What girls want
It’s almost time for little paper hearts, chocolates, red and white decorations, cupid, roses, and those little chalky candies with messages written on them that people always get but never like.
Yep, we’re talking about Valentine’s Day.
In the spirit of the day, we asked some of our female followers to share with us what they like or want in a guy. Here’s what a few of them said:
Charlotte — “I look for a kind, giving heart and someone who isn’t judgmental who will put family first and take care of business.”
Jennifer — “Honesty.”
Ashley — “Honesty… without that there’s no trust!”
Allison — “Respect… A man that can respect a woman is a good man.”
Alayna — “Honesty, caring, and loving.”
Hannah — “Honesty, respect, caring, and sweetness.”
And for the male perspective…Billy said, “I wish that was all y’all looked for lol”
Resolutions
It’s a new year and it’s time for setting yourself resolutions.
Sometimes they’re popular long-range ones such as save money, lose weight, or quit smoking. All of them require a lifestyle change, which make them the most difficult resolutions as well.
I believe in imagining resolutions that are achievable. They may be something such as cleaning the bathroom or organizing your closet. Resolutions don’t have to shoot for the moon, and if you actually achieve them then you receive a huge confidence boost.
We turned to our Facebook page and asked our fans what their resolutions are. Here’s what some had to say:
- Marsha Wall Smith — find a new job…and shop Beehive more
- Sarah Spillers — Quit drinking diet coke
- Christina Johnson — Run 1/2 marathon by May!!!!! Gotta get a move on that one…already 4 days late on getting started…lol
- Sherlee Lajeanne Weeks — I made the same resolution as last year: I have resolved to make no resolutions! FAILURE immediate that way!
I resolve to make some beauty resolutions in 2012. I want to clean out my closet, update my wardrobe, change up my makeup routine, and find a new hairstyle.
If anybody out there is feeling a little stale with her beauty routine, I urge her to come up with some beauty resolutions for the new year. You’ll be amazed at how big a difference it makes.

Fall is here!
Today is the first day of fall and that means the heat is GONE!…Well, not quite. But still, get excited! Pretty colors! Halloween is coming soon! Thanksgiving! Layers!
So let’s talk about fall and what you can do to make the most of the season. Here’s a few tips on how to change with the leaves:
Change your hair color — If you bleached for summer, darken it up a bit. Maybe you have some highlights, then try some lowlights. It’s all about being seasonally appropriate with this suggestion. A nice auburn would be very autumnal…
Layer — This is a no-brainer. It’s going to get cooler, if it hasn’t already. So try a light jacket cinched at the waist (that’s a big to do this season). Or even a raincoat over a dress. Integrate them into your wardrobe slowly. Trying to bust out a sweater in early October is usually not going to work.
Decorate — If you’re tired of your space, get some fall colors and change your place around. It’s easy to get some fake vegetation and make a nice centerpiece, or you can do a themed room. Besides, if you’re hosting Thanksgiving this year, you’ll need to do it at some point.
Switch the makeup — Now is the time to go a little darker with your shades of lipstick and eye shadow. Summer was all about fresh, natural appearance. Now you can get more dramatic with your look.
Switch it up for the sake of change — Try something different just so you don’t fall into a rut or get behind the times. Fashion should be fun, so experiment a little. Fall doesn’t have to be drab, just appropriate.
